In his first year at Fontana Unified School District, Harold Sullins was determined to make a difference. He sought out competitive bids for milk and frozen foods contracts and was able to achieve a savings of over $400,000 for the district's nutrition program. He continued to implement inventory controls that improved cash flow and reduced problems of excess inventory. Using these savings, Harold created food court renovation projects that will improve the mealtime atmosphere in the district. He established Nutrition Advisory Councils, wellness workshops, and interactive "celebrity" chef demonstrations that entertain and inform students about healthy eating habits.
